Is Reckon 2025 a dud?

I have just upgraded to Reckon Hosted 2025. It is appallingly slow & constantly freezes.

I normally use Chrome but it is the same with edge. Is anyone else having issues?

Actually, Microsoft Edge is worse as I get a large, obtrusive square with a string of numbers with an amazon address & a message: see images etc on clipboard.

    Dear @cshepp007 ,

When you create a Backup in Reckon Accounts Hosted, it is stored in My Files under the B folder.

Using the toolbar at the top of the page, click My Files, then select B.

From there, find your backup, and Left-Click it to begin downloading.

Once it's downloaded, it'll appear in your computer's Downloads folder.

    Kind regards,

    Dear @cshepp007 ,

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a rocky time with Reckon Accounts Hosted 2025.

I have a few questions around the slowness and freezing you're having:

    1. Outside of upgrading your company file, when was the last time you took a Full Verification in-product Backup?
    2. If you go into View → Open Window List, how many windows in Reckon Accounts Hosted do you currently have open?
    3. How slow is the program currently operating? How does it compare before you upgraded?

Let me know ASAP - I'm hoping to turn your experience around.

    Kind regards,

I've upgraded 3 clients to the 2025 version this week and so far I've found it to be much faster than the previous edition.

Particularly when first logging in and opening the file is much more rapid.

    Dear @Eric Murphy ,

Glad to hear you're having a good time with the newest release. 🙂

Of course, if you have any suggestions for the software, you can make them in the Ideas section of the Reckon Community: https://community.reckon.com/categories/ideas

It freezes from the minute I start & takes ages to respond to any input. I backup files at the end of each session & the "complete Verification" tab is checked under "options". It is very slow & freezes beteen inputs even with just one screen open. It adds minutes if trying to do much work.

    Dear @cshepp007 ,

Thank you for letting me know.

How about the currently opened Windows?

Can you run a speedtest from the Hosted Dashboard and let me know the speeds you're getting to the site?

    Kind regards,

How do I do that? Is there something on Reckon or do I just do a computer speed test? My other rprograms are working well. There is no freezing while typing here

    Dear @cshepp007 ,

    1. You can check the Open Window List by going into View → Open Window List.
    2. For the speed test, you can go to the Reckon Hosted Dashboard ( https://hosted.reckon.com/RAHV2/ReckonAccountsDashboard.aspx ), then click Test your internet speed on the right-hand side of the screen.

I just tried to re open Reckon 2025 which I was using if slowly. When I tried to login again it would not open the file & asked me to restore a back up file. This has happened several time. I will see if 2024 is working & avoid 2025 for now

    Dear @cshepp007 ,

I would advise against opening 2024 in case it creates issues or duplications.

It sounds to me that you may have a duplicate session in the system.

I'm going to send you a private message soon asking for your ID - I'll begin investigating what could be going wrong in this case.

    Kind regards,

I have tried re-opening Reckon 2025. I get a message that Edition cannot open it unless I upgrade which I have already done. I have done this a couple of times restoring a backup file. It works for while . Then the next time I open , I get this message again. Even 2024 is not opening files

    Dear @cshepp007 ,

This is because you opened 2024 after opening/upgrading to 2025.

The web browser cache now has data for both versions of Reckon Accounts Hosted, and 2024 is taking priority over Reckon Accounts Hosted 2025.

To fix this, you can perform the following:

    1. Go to File → Exit in Reckon Accounts Hosted.
    2. On the Reckon Accounts Hosted Dashboard, on your keyboard, press Left Control + Left Shift + Delete at the same time. This will take you to the Delete browsing data window. The options below are for Microsoft Edge, and are slightly different for Google Chrome, so let me know if you are using Chrome at present.
    3. Set the Time range to Last 7 days.
    4. Ensure the following options are ticked:
      1. Browsing history
      2. Download history
      3. Cookies and other site data
      4. Cached images and files
      5. Scroll down for Site permissions and Media Foundation data.
    5. Once these have been ticked (the other options should be left unticked), click Clear now.
    6. Once this is done, back on the Reckon Accounts Hosted dashboard, on your keyboard, press Left Control + F5.
    7. Login to Hosted, and access Reckon Accounts Hosted 2025.

If you select 2024, you may cause a caching issue again, so it's recommended you avoid selecting it for now.

Please also respond to the message I sent so that I can investigate your record further.

    Kind regards,

Hi, Alexis. Thank you so much. That has solved the problem. It obviously happened when my accountant went on to the program yesterday &, I think, forgot to click 2025. if I decide to pen up reckon on Google chrome, will it work ok or do I need to delete the cache there before opening Reckon.

On Edge , I get an annoying window on the top right of the screen obscuring the menus. It says: 5c5e1ced443bfcdf0481e90be0877596a8660612f7316cc467a1de8.appstream2.ap-southeast-2.aws.amazon.com wants to see text and images copied to the clipboard.

How do I get rid of it?

Thanks again. My blood pressure has settled

    Dear @cshepp007 ,

You should be okay using Chrome as well from here on in - though you can always follow the instructions provided again if it, too, messes up.

As for this, you will need to click on that message, and Allow/Permit this to occur - this will allow Clipboard access between Reckon Accounts Hosted and Edge/Chrome.

Hi, When i click [right or left] there is no response to accept or do anything.

Also, is there a way to download a company backup file to email to my accountant. When I click on "portability file', I get an option to my computer but cannot get it to open my c drive to download to a folder
