Reckon Accounts Premier 2024 Unrecoverable Error Code 14147 07923

I have recently upgraded from Windows 10, to Windows 11 on a new computer. My Reckon Accounts Premier 2024 was reinstalled on the new computer. Since then the following keep happening when I do a backup to the backup directory on my computer:
- I have to enter the backup path each time I do a backup, even though I save it.
- After backup and validation I get the error message 'Reckon Accounts - Unrecoverable Error' and 'Reckon Accounts has experienced a problem and must be shut down.'
- Reckon Accounts Premier 2024 then closes.
I don't know whether this is serious but would appreciate some advice on how to stop it, please?

Try rebuilding your file 3 times in succession, its a trick I learned here on the Community that has helped a lot.

Hi @Linda_9776465,
That doesn't sound too good. Sorry, that you're having this issue at the moment.
The issue with the backup path each time needing to be set each time you save it, I recommend attempting to run Reckon Accounts in Administrator and it should save the pathing.
The reason this occurs is due to the permissions of the software might not be correct. I will see if we can find a knowledge article for you in relation to this problem.
The issue with your backup and validation, now that would be my biggest concern that the file is damaged.
Could you please attempt a reverify and rebuild first and perform some troubleshooting by contacting our technical support team on the following number: 1300 137 657
After we have expanded those options, please raise a ticket with Data Recovery with the technical support agent and they will reach out about grabbing a copy of the data file and checking for any possible corruption.
Please feel free to reach out and we will do our best to assist you.
Thank you.

Could you also confirm if it crashes during a manual Verify Data operation and not just the verification that occurs as part of the backup.

I have, just now, run Reckon Accounts Premier 2024 as administrator. I forgot about this and believe this is how I ran it on my old computer.
Verification and backup ran without a problem. The backup path has been saved for next time.
Thank you for your valuable advice.
Lucas, to answer your question, verification on its own was not causing a problem. This probably means that verification as a part of backup wasn't either.
