#TipTuesday: Effortless Contacting in Reckon One’s Contacts Centre

This week, we’re shining a light on a handy feature in Reckon One’s Contacts Centre, one I only just discovered myself, and honestly, I think it could be super helpful. It’s the ability to contact your customers, suppliers, and superfunds directly from within the Contacts Centre, without needing to leave your Reckon book.

What is the Contacts Centre?

The Contacts Centre acts as your business’s address book, where you store the details of everyone you deal with: customers, suppliers, employees, even superfunds. But it’s more than just a storage space, it’s also a quick-action hub. If you’ve entered email addresses or phone numbers for your contacts, you’ll be able to click the icons next to them. Clicking the email icon will open a new message in your default email app. Need to give them a ring? Click the phone icon to start the call (available only on devices that support calling features, such as a mobile device or a calling app).

Example in Action

Say you’re reconciling transactions and notice a supplier payment that needs clarification. Instead of switching to your inbox, searching for the email, and finding their contact info, just head to the Contacts Centre, find the supplier, and click the email icon. Simples!

How to Use It

  1. Go to the Contacts Centre in your Reckon One toolbar
  2. Select the type of contact you want to reach (customers, suppliers, superfunds, etc.)
  3. Depending on the type of contact there may be different icons but the main ones are the:
  • Envelope icon for Emails
  • Web icon for Websites
  • Mobile phone for mobile numbers
  • Landline phone for Landline phone numbers
