When I created a new payroll item for salary employees, in Gross payments / yearly salary, the hours paid on the pay slip deducts from the 'Other 1' payroll leave accrual.

It’s been incorrectly linked to leave 😬
Unfortunately, that selection is only shown at initial setup so you’ll need to create a new Payroll Item
you’ve clearly set the pay item up incorrectly, have a look through the normal pay item tabs and compare carefully with how you have setup the new one
