'Transfer funds between accounts'

Hi - each time I go to 'transfer funds between accounts' to enter a transaction, an unrecoverable error occurs and Reckon Hosted shuts down and I am continually having to restart each time I use this feature and it is becoming quite frustrating. Has there been a known error logged about this and is there a workaround? Many thanks.

The Rebuild / Verify will at least confirm if the file has issues that are detected and possibly corrected.

If you encounter a crash during a Verify or a Rebuild then that does confirm a data file problem.

If your data file is quite large, it may take a while to go through that Rebuild Data and Verify Data process.

For very large files, we would recommend that the verify and rebuild be done on a locally installed Reckon Accounts Enterprise (single-user licence) software. This will require the download of the QBW from the Hosted platform to the local PC.

Are you able to successfully generate a Trial Balance report for "All Dates" and it shows the DEBIT = CREDIT totals? (If not, then your files has damaged transactions)

How often have you been making a backup of your data file with the "Complete Verification" option enabled?

If you have not backed up regularly, recommend that you:

Have all users log-off the company data file
Download a copy of the QBW file from the Hosted platform to your local computer (this will serve as a 'copy/backup' in the event that your file on the Hosted platform becomes unopenable.

If you are experiencing a crash with a specific action, it indicates a problem with your company data file.

Use the Rebuild Data and Verify Data function to check your file integrity.

what happens if you use the cheque window to do the transfer instead of the transfer window?

Thank you - yes I generated a Trial Balance report for all dates and it showed the debit/credit totals correctly. We have auto backup on our system daily so I'll check the complete verification option. I use the Rebuild Data and Verify Data function and see if that fixes the issue. Many thanks.

Hi Kris - Yes I did try that yesterday but it didn't work for what I needed unfortunately. I use the Transfer Funds when I tfr money from business cheque accounts to business credit card accounts (for multiple employees who have cards). I'll try the advice from Datarec and see if it fixes it. Thanks so much.

Glad to hear that the built-in file integrity checking functions have helped resolve the issue.

Please ensure that you regularly make use of the backup function with the "Complete Verification" option enabled.

Periodically download copies of the QBW (company files) and QBB (backups) from the Hosted platform to your local computer, storing them in known locations in clearly labelled folders.
