The new Reports Menu, showing all the reports under their group headings, is less useful to me than the older style with drop-down menus.
May we please have a Settings option to select between the two styles?

Thanks for raising this. Would be keen to get a bit more feedback from you, do you prefer having less on-screen to view from the outset when looking at the new report menu screen vs the previous one?
Have you tried out the filter option in the top right? it somewhat emulates the dropdown menu options from the previous report screen and dynamically updates the menu screen based on your selection.

I saw the drop-down at the top right, which suffices for now, but yes, I would prefer the "cleaner" appearance of the previous style.
However, I recognise that I may be in a minority, hence my suggestion for a Setting option to select the layout as either "old" or "new" style.
I have not created a lot of custom reports yet, but as I expand in that area, the page is going to fill very quickly. :-)
Just adding my 2cents for what's it's worth Rav.
There's a lot of text on screen and it all looks the same. Maybe making it a little easier to read the names of reports would help.
My eyes are ageing though so take that as you will

I flagged this idea with our reports product owner and have an update that I wanted to share but they also had a couple of questions they wanted to get your opinion on 🙂.
Firstly, in regard to the ability to switch between the new and old views for the reports menu, unfortunately that isn't something we're going to be able to implement. The reason for that is, the new reports menu runs on a much more modern technology framework which we're progressively upgrading all of Reckon One to. You may have noticed recently we've rolled out brand new experiences for invoices, invoice templates, journals, payroll and as you've noted, we've started on reports as well (with more to come) which all run on this new framework. As we switch on these new experiences, we also need to switch off the older tech as well to avoid issues, complexity and tech debt.
Now with all that said, the feedback from this idea is super valuable as we want to make sure we fine tune the new experience with what you need. On that note, I have a couple of questions that the product team wanted to run by you -
