SAFF Reports

Hi,

We have two problems with the SAFF reports generated for file upload to a clearing house (CBus Quicksuper)

1 - All the individual Super funds are created with USI, ABN etc, however, the SAFF report picks up the clearing house ABN instead of the individual fund ABN and therefore the clearing house returns an error and does not process the upload.

2. - For funds with a numeric USI, the format comes across in the CSV file in scientific notation e.g. 9.01944E+13 rather than 90194410365001. I know this can be converted but that requires manual intervention every time super is processed.

Any comment on these issues would be appreciated.

You shouldn’t open the Saff file before you lodge it as excel can change some of the formatting. Best to upload it to clearing house and then check errors

In QuickSuper I had to change the format and file type

We don't check it before uploading - the clearing house automatically rejects the file because of these errors

Yes that is how we upload the file and modify the date format

did you also change the file format to Superstream alternative as shown in my photo?

Yes sorry we also do that when uploading

I found I only had to change it once and it retains the setting. What exactly are the errors?

Yes us as well (it maintains the settings) but still rejects the file because of the ABN and the number format

is this a SMSF employee that is causing the problem?

Does the error report tell you the problem employee?

Not with the USI number format (they are with Industry funds)

The ABN issue has been party resolved by removing the ABN from the supplier master file for clearing house (CBus Quicksuper) and therefore no ABN is included in the SAFF file upload - however, yes the SMSF funds then create the issue because they have to have an ABN and the file gets rejected - we can manually insert the ABN in the appropriate place in the SAFF for the SMSF funds, but again that means manually amending the SAFF file every week
