Hi @wendyboland
The USI (Unique Superannuation Identifier) is a code used to identify a specific superannuation fund or a particular product within it. It's like a BSB number for your Super — It ensures that any contributions or rollovers land safely in the exact member account 😊
The SAFF file exports specific data from the file including the USI, so make sure you have these entered in your employee records:
Super fund details are easily located online - If you don't have them to hand, do an online search for the relevant fund eg "Australian Super USI" & you'll be able to find them 😊
It w
as initially believed that because each fund's ABN is required for the SAFF file export that it was necessary to have each fund set up as a Supplier in your Supplier List. However, it's since been determined that this is not required for APRA funds if all the Super Payroll Items are set as being paid to the 1 payee instead (eg to your clearing house Supplier) The exception to this is SMSFs. Unless you have set up any SMSFs within the clearing house itself, it will be necessary for any SMSF's to be set up as their own Supplier within your program, for successful SAFF export. This is because - unlike the industry/commercial APRA super funds - SMSFs are uniquely created by their members, so super funds don't automatically have their details by default!
Hi everyone, Since using a SAFF file with the updated Employer Portal for Australian Super Clearing House, I keep encountering this issue, where there is no ABN associated with the Super fund, when the SAFF file is exported from RAH. While the issue is resolved fairly easily, it's beginning to really annoy me, so I thought I'd post here and see if anyone else has discovered how to get the ABNs into the SAFF file..
This warning at the top of the contribution grid:
Then this warning under each employee contribution line:
Have you setup suppliers for each of the super funds? In the supplier details you can enter the ABN. Then you create a payroll item for each individual super fund and link the new supplier to it. You then have to go onto the employees and select the relevant fund
