Salary Sacrifice Super and RESC Amounts not reconciling

I am currently completing my end of year payroll reconciliation.

I have one employee who salary sacrifices super ($100 per pay over 15 weeks). In STP his salary sacrifice super shows the $1,500 and his RESC only shows $1,300.

I have narrowed the problem down to two individual pay runs (8/4 and 13/5), there is nothing unusual or different about these two pay runs that explains why the RESC amount does not tie to the superannuation sacrifice amount. I have tried to regenerate the STP data without success. I deleted and reprocessed the pay from 8/4 and regenerated STP data also without success.

There was another employee who also salary sacrifices super and this error does not happen for him.

How do I correct this?

Hello, we also occasionally have this issue. We have changed the super report to add in RESC & print it for every pay run. We can see immediately if there is an issue & deal with it as Shaz suggests.

Hi Shaz

I have had this problem today with my pay run. I have gone in and deleted the sal sacrifice amount several times to fix the error, however it is not changing in STP file.

It seems to be a c glitch that happens serveral times through out the payroll year and the fix has always worked before. Am wondering if something different has to be done in the new version 35

Are you checking it's corrected afterwards, on the Super report (under the RESC / Amount columns) & then generating a NEW STP file ?

The file you previously saved is saved as is eg with the errors. Once the data is corrected, you need to generate a new one 😊😊😊

Yes I am generating a new report and file each time I corrected, however it is not fixing the glitch. It happens several times a year and usually it is fixed once I delete the entry and re enter it.

YES UNFORTUNATELY. i CHECK THE TOTALS EVERY WEEK AS i KNOW THERE IS A GLITCH BUT IT HAS NOT WORKED THIS TIME

Are you verifying your file regularly ? I’ve not encountered this not resolving it before so there may be some data corruption.

Try running Verify Data then after that, Rebuild Data x 3. (3 Rebuilds can fix many corruption issues)

These options are under the File dropdown menu > Utilities

Ok thank you. I do run the quick verification daily with the daily back up however I have just run the full verification and did the rebuild. then did the delete and re added the sal sacrifice and the amount is still incorrect in RESC column. Last week it was all correct in the pay run. I do print off both the Reckon and the Govt STP file to ensure it is correct each pay run.

So don't know what to do next.

My suggestion to you User236 is that you file the details of the fix for this problem to somewhere that you can readily find it in the future. My experience in the past was that it seemed to crop up at least once per year for somebody's pay run.

This issue has not been resolved and I have not been ale to fix it to date. Am going to delete the whole pay run and process again as just by deleting and re doing the affected pay has not fixed the glitch,
