Payday Super Contribution Error

Hello, what is the best way to rectify a contribution error. It is an admin error with dates which has resulted in a couple of employees being paid more than they should have in one pay run.

Can I do an adjusted payment in the next payday super contribution? and what is the best way to do this? We use Care super.

I don't think doing an adjusted pay next time is the way to go with how QE is being tracked with super now.

Edit the pay run to the correct amount and send an update event.

The payrun is correct. It is actually the super contribution where the error has occurred. When we processed the super contribution, the incorrect dates were used which pulled some figures from the previous period, thus resulting in the overpayment. This was not picked up unto we went to process the following week.

The correct figures have been submitted to STP for the payrun. However, the incorrect figures have been provided to the super clearing house and subsequently, the incorrect amount paid to employee super accounts.

this was a question I asked in the very early days. I think if it were me I would work out what the overpayment was and deduct from the next week’s payment (after checking with the employees that they re ok with that,) and lodge the contribution manually rather than importing a Saff file

I can’t see any other way to do it, the most important thing is to pay and I would think anything that enables you to do that would work. I’m not saying it’s the correct way but it’s all I know and it’s what I would do

I agree it appears the best way to process this to correct the error - confirming totals, entitlements and payments are correct as part of the process.
