Lodge STP

My Contractor edition does not have a "Lodge" button for STP. I have used UMDUPE in the past but this is no longer available. Also there is no facility to pay employees once per year as is necessary for our business. We must wait til EOFY before deciding on wages.

@CDevitt STP relates to payroll employees only.

A sole trader (ST) is an individual entity, so cannot “employ” themselves. Therefore a ST business owner just takes “Drawings” (which should NOT be put through STP)

The EMPDUPE was the previous electronic file process (pre-STP) & again, it was not for reporting Drawings.

Both these reporting methods were just replacing the original “Group Certificates” (which later became “Payment Summaries”)

I did read that payroll must be done weekly, fortnightly or monthly only. Not a Reckon thing though an ATO thing

So how does a sole trader submit STP. We do not know how much profit is available for distribution until EOFY?

NO. I lodged EMDUPE last year. ATO said they would no longer accept EMDUPE but they still did and will still accept but Reckon no longer supports it.

In my experience Sole traders do not pay wages and don’t submit STP. I thought Empdupe was for the subbies Taxable payments, TPAR. Now you export a file from reckon and do a file transfer into the ATO.
