I have created an Empdupe from a client's Reckon Hosted file (as I have done with many others) and attempted to lodge on the ATO portal. However this is the only one which has been unsuccessful.

In the ATO validation report the message says "Please contact your software developer. The file size is not a correct multiple of the record length."

Has anyone ever come across this before and what action was taken to correct it?

Also, I have attempted to prepare a TPAR from another client's Reckon file, and lodge to the ATO. This time the validation report says "The file cannot be processed, a virus has been detected."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Austin,

Thanks for asking the Reckon Community.

Your first issue - the file size is not a correct multiple of the record length - is usually associated with the EmpDupe being created in an earlier version when the EmpDupe version was also different.  That is not your case, and as others were created successfully, it suggests some field in that company file is not correct.  Check on the Company Information screen and the ABN number's Branch No - make sure it is either Blank or 001 or other valid number.  A two digit number is incorrect and may cause this type of error.

For the second issue - a virus has been detected   -  has not been reported before.  At this stage I suggest you recreate the file and upload again.

If either of these ideas do not work, please call Technical Support for further one-to-one assistance.

    regards,
    John.

    Hi John,

Thanks a lot for the reply.

Both have now been lodged successfully per your instructions.

    Thank you very much.

    Austin
