GL for Tax payable is very different from Tax Detail Report

Does anyone know why the Tax Detail / Summary reports show a very different GST owing amount from the Tax Payable Account?  I have downloaded to excel and only added the GST Paid and Collected amounts and this varies vastly from the report amounts.

    How much do you know about accounting? The figure in the GL is todays figure. The figure in the Tax liability report is date driven. Run a balance sheet at the date of the tax liability report. It should be the same if the reporting basis is the same.
