Reckon Accounts Premier creating multiple (duplicate) backup files

I have Reckon Accounts Premier 2017 set to do automatic backups when closing.  As you can see on screenshot, more than one copy of the ABU file is being created.  Often it is 3 copies, sometimes 1 or 2.  I have used WinMerge to compare the files and they are identical.

Anyone have an idea why this might be happening?
