bulk edit chart of accounts

Hi 

I want to bulk edit my chart of accounts, can you suggest the best way to do that.

    Thank you for contacting Reckon.

    We would like to inform you that in Reckon Accounts Hosted you can edit only one Account at a time under Chart Of Accounts.

    It is possible, export to excel NB you cannot change the name/subaccount of and or account type, but you can change tax codes assigned to accounts, account numbers, description. I save the file as *.xls, once i'm happy with the modifications I save as a *.txt and then import as *.iif
    Be safe do a backup prior to importing, better still download the file to the desktop, play to your hearts content, then export the accounts and import to hosted.
    If you wish to group existing accounts  under a new group  ie OFFICE OVERHEADS, OR MANUFACTURINGT, create the new account and drag the existing ones in.  Don't forget to resort the accounts after doing this.

    Jacqui you have taken a very small subset of what can be edited and made a generalisation to the whole. I think my answer covers it. Thanks
