Hi all.
We have many suppliers with many products and updating item cost and prices is very time consuming.  We currently use CSV files with our online store which is really easy as we just let the CSV file do all the work then upload the changes.  I download a list of products from our website to a CSV, get the CSV to update using the supplier price list with formulas to change prices and upload to our website. Can we do this with Reckon Desktop 2020?
Really would appreciate some help to make this time consuming job easier.
Cheers
Di

If you export your item list as an iif file - then open the list in Excel and make the pricing changes in there - you can then import back in...

    Tips:
    • Dont change the Item code - doing this will mean you create new items when importing back in and still have the old items
    • if you use Barcodes - and if any barcodes start with a 0 - then when opening the IIF file in Excel - make sure you step through the import wizard and choose TEXT for the barcode field - otherwise Excel will drop the zero and when you import back in - your barcodes will not match the products when scanning
    • ALWAYS, ALWAYS do a backup of the file before importing back in - then check that the import worked and you are happy with the pricing that has come through... if it goes wrong for any reason - you can restore your backup and try again.
    • Test with a small number of products first - make changes, backup the file, import and check the results - so that you learn what works and what doesnt...before trying with your full item list
