Why would an 'balance' error message appear if the top/bottom amounts are the same?
Any suggestions as to why I'd be getting this message. I've tried doing this transaction several times but keep getting the same response. What am I missing?

I ended up pressing the 'recalculate' button on bottom left of cheque and that worked in allowing the cheque to be saved. any insights as to why it may happen would be helpful for the future.

Was this transaction:
a) Manually entered
b) Brought in via an IIF import file
When you recalculated the transaction, which transaction line in the Expense tab or Item tab changed?

Hi, it was initially a memorised transaction that I normally change the amounts. Since it didn't balance that way I tried several times to create a new transaction (cheque) but that didn't work....until I pressed the recalculation button.
After pressing the recalculation button neither transaction line visibly changed. so I could only assume something had glitched in the background which corrected itself.

Was there perhaps any change to the Currency Rate?
Is this 'out-of-balance' issue occurring only with Memorised Transactions related to cheques using multi-currency transactions or any other type of Memorised Transaction??

yes there was a change to the currency rate that was automatically inserted when the document opened - this happens when a new rate is put in a previous transaction and answering Yes when asked if I want this change to be used for future transactions.
I haven't had this occur with other memorised transactions.

Since the transaction is a Memorised Transaction which likely had a different currency rate value at the time it was originally ‘memorised’, the calculation of the lineitems may have been affected by the change to the current currency rate compared to the original rate.
