Purchase order numbering system

Can I set a new starting number for purchase orders, I have been able to do it in previous versions but the current version would not let me change the numbering order. It just automatically fills the field with the next number regardless of what I have manually numbered the previous PO. ie if the most recent PO was 1122 and I manually changed that to 1234 the next number would still automatically pop up as 1123. Previously (possibly 2 versions ago) if I manually set that PO to 1234 the next one would automatically be 1235, and that is the flexibility I would prefer

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues.

I tried to replicate the problem on my end, but everything seems to be working as expected based on the steps you've described. Specifically, when I enter "506" for the PO and save and close it, the next PO starts from "507."

To better assist you, could you please let me know which version of Reckon Accounts you are using? Additionally, I recommend completing the rebuild process three times, as this can sometimes resolve unexpected issues.

Once you've done that, please let me know the outcome so we can further troubleshoot if necessary.

Reeta, I will try rebuilding but unsure why I need to do that. Latest version is being used currently Reckon Accounts Plus 2024, tax table 2425331,

@Peter Baxter There could be some background data corruption - Run the Rebuild 3 times in a row (for some reason, THREE rebuilds can fix a lot of glitches) ☺️

Hi, been through that process, rebuild 3 times (I really dont have much faith in the program any more unfortunately) and the end result is no change, still behaves exactly the same way it did before.

My familiarity with the program and my proximity to retirement are unfortunately the main factors that keep me here.

Was this issue ever resolved as we are having the exact same issue with Purchase Order numbers in Reckon Hosted.

We can change the purchase order number to a new range however every time we create a new purchase order the number jumps back to the old range even though we are now 20 odd PO's further on. I guess we just have to keep manually changing it each time.

Other documents do not seem to have this issue it is just the Purchae Orderes.

No resolution other than to call Tech support which I dont think I have the patience or motivation to do. The program (just) does what I need, and annoying behaviour such as this glitch is pretty common so I just change the numbering manually each PO.

Yours does seem to be an identical issue but I had not tried other documents.

I was able to change these numbers and they stayed changed up until about 2 versions ago.
