IIF file template for journals that will include tax
Hello morning Team,
Just wondering if anyone had any experience with an IIF file format specific for general journal uploads?
We are trying to upload one that will have GST components for each line. The default does not have the tax column (shown below)
I tried adding some columns from our BILL upload IIF template and play around with it, however the upload failed.
The error message was below:
Is there a work around that can make the GST be included in the IIF file upload?
Thanks and regards,
Nita

Weirdly, I tested a single double entry awhile back and it worked. Not sure what went wrong with this one. Discussion:

Thanks Nick and Team (assuming Omar) for sending me the links to try.
I tried a few different ways based on the links but still could not get one that will work. Will continue to try it.
Thanks and regards,
Nita

Here is an example IIF file of a General Journal that makes use of a Tax Code.
You can compare the ones you are creating which are not working with this one.
You can rename and remove the ".txt" extension, or just open in Excel as a tab-delimited text file.
After viewing the IIF file in Excel, if you create a blank new QBW file, ensure that you create any Names and Accounts mentioned in the IIF before you import it.
