new computer

I am running reckon Personal Plus 2022 without any problems on a very old computer running Windows 7 (2009). The computer is very old so I want to install the program on my much newer PC notebook running Windows 11.

Which are the important data files I need to transfer across? I'm very comfortable finding backup files and "restoring" them, but the guide on transferring Reckon to a new computer also advises transferring the data files. Which files??

My team has informed me about the data files for the Reckon Personal Range. The Reckon Accounts Personal Range data file set consists of multiple files with the same name but different file extensions.

If for example your file is called "QDATA" then the data file set would be:

QDATA.QDF – this is the main component

QDATA.QSD – these are supplementary files

QDATA.QEL – these are supplementary files

QDATA.QPH – these are supplementary files

QDATA.RKN – this is a backup set

Yes, that's correct. Please transfer all the files related to your data file from the dataset to the new computer, placing them in the folder: Documents\ReckonHAB.

If you have a backup all you need to do is to restore it on your new computer, download the program from your member's site at members.reckon.com and use your id and pin to log in.
