How do I generate a supplier fast report with total balance at the bottom

I need a year to date spend amount for a supplier. The fast report gives a list of all the transactions but no balance at the bottom of the report. I have filtered out the payments but cannot work out how to add the total at the bottom. Or is there a different report that can be run? I simply need to know how much we have spent with a couple of our suppliers this year.
It's probably very basic and easy but I cannot for the life of me work out how to add a balance to the bottom of the report.
Can anyone please help me?

Hi @AnnMarie
Create your own from the Find:
- Under the Edit dropdown menu, click on Find
- On the Advanced tab, select the Date & choose your required Date/Dates range
- Select the Name filter & choose the relevant Supplier (or even Multiple names to select several) you are wanting to report on
- Under Transaction Type, select the relevant options (either a single type eg Bills or choose Multiple Transaction Types & tick all that apply (eg Bill, Bill Credit, Credit Card, Cheque etc)
- Under Detail Level, select Summary only
- Click on the Find button to generate the data, then on Report to display the results as a report.
- In the report, click on the Modify Report button (top left) & filter/customise it further.
Here, on the Display tab, I have removed unnecessary columns, added, the ones I want, set Total by to Supplier & Sort by to Date, as well as giving it a Title:
Once you have the report exactly how you want it, click on the Memorise button (top left next to Modify …) it so it can be auto-generated from your Memorised Reports List ! :
Alternatively, you can also add it to your Icon Bar for simple 1-click access ! :
To add any report (or window) to your icon bar, simply display it on screen then click on the the report on
You'll see here, I have renamed it with a shorter label in order to prevent taking up too much space in the icon bar ! :
Now you - or your husband - can simply click on it to generate as needed & just tweak the template as required (eg for different Suppliers / Dates) 😊

Hi @AnnMarie
You can try generating a FastReport for the "Accounts Payable" or "Trade Creditors" account from the Account List.
You can then modify that report and change the filters.
- set the filter for a specific account, Name and Transaction Type

You could do an itemised Profit And Loss and then filter it and tick the names of the suppliers you need in Modify report

Thank you Datarec. I did the report and it gives me the data but how do I get the balance to be just this financial year? I entered that parameter, however it gives me a starting balance from previous entries before that date.
Thank you Kris. I need to be able to show my husband how to generate this report, with the least number of steps. And as our company file is quite large, any itemised reports tend to take quite some time to generate and affects what the other users on other computers can do at the same time.
Is there no way to add a balance column to the Supplier Fast Report? Or just a balance total at the bottom of the Supplier Fast Report?

Thank you Acctd4. That has enabled me to set up what he needs and show me how to do other reports.
Thank you everyone for your help.
As an aside - is there any way to add a total at the bottom of a fast report?
