Don't Allow Credit Card Purchases to be made from Customers

I can't see the reason behind allowing credit card purchases to be made from Customers. All other purchases can only be raised against Suppliers, and Sales can only be made to Customers. When the same entity can sometimes be both customer and supplier you have to create a Customer and Supplier but the current situation allows you to incorrectly create a credit card purchase against the Customer account.

I agree. It applies not just to credit card purchases, but to all purchases. If an entity is both, then there needs to be an account under customers, and a separate account under suppliers and neither to effect the other. It is too confusing otherwise, both us and the receiver. A customer statement should only have Sales type transactions and receipts for those transactions, so that the statement sent out is what the customer owes, and if they are also a supplier they send us a statement with only purchases on it.
Nowhere else in 50 years of bookkeeping have I seen combined accounts.
Also how does this effect balancing to the general ledger A/cs Receivable and A/cs Payable. An accountants nightmare I would think.
