New Chart of Accounts

I have recently set up a new company in Reckon Accounts Hosted.

I have only entered a few items, invoices and bills. Can I upload/import a new Chart of Accounts that is more suitable and what format must it be in?

You can export a Chart of Accounts from another company file & just import it into the new one. To do this, just open the other company file (that contains the accounts you want) then click on File (along top toolbar) > Utilities > Export > Lists to IIF Files.

Tick the Chart of Accounts checkbox & click OK. It will prompt you to save it so save the file to your desktop, then close out of that company file.

Open your new company file & click on File (along top toolbar again) > Utilities > Import > IIF Files Navigate to your desktop, select your exported list, click Open & the list will import for you 😁

Before importing:

compare the Preference settings of the source file and the destination file to ensure that the name of the tax agency is identical (Example: "Australian Taxation Office"), since if they are different, you can end up with two suppliers flagged as tax agency and this may affect tax items and tax codes
