Edit transactions after downloading bank statement

I have a new computer after the old one died, and have reinstalled Home and Business.

When trying to edit the split i get "disk problem, switch to back" up, then "memorise address failure."

I have reloaded other older version of backup and same problem occurs

Any advice greatfully received.

Program file is in C drive. Data file and backup are in a folder in Dropbox.

I have another saved backup on mini SSD card which I used to load data file to new computer.

I have tried using backup from each of these locations and same thing happens.

What is your country code if I want to ring, and what would be a good time.

It is always the same 2 issues 1st the location of the working data file and 2nd the name length.

As l suspected @GerryWinter

So, as l understand it-

The working data file set (ie. the .QDF file (and associated files) should be opened from, and, by default, stored in a C:\ Drive folder, or another root directory drive on the local/hard disc, eg. D:\ , and
The file name should be no longer than 8 characters in length.

And, if restoring from a backup file (.Rkn file) -

Because, by default, a restored file opens in the folder from which it is restored, the .rkn file should be firstly located in the folder on the local/hard drive that the user wishes to use for the working file set, as per above.

Can you please confirm?

Your first comment was correct only have the working files in C drive in a new folder, nowhere else. Your backup procedure was correct.
