Post and Transfer Errors

Have been using Reckon Accounts Enterprise with POS Lite for years.

As of 5 days ago, have been unable to Post and Transfer between Accounts and POS. In POS Admin the following error appears "Error Connecting to Accounts. The requested connection type could not be found". After retrying, the following message appears " An error has occurred in ModQuickBooksInterface Support: Post Product Changes XML-2147220465. The "Open Connection" method has not been called."

POS files are being created each day at EOD, but cannot post to Accounts. Changes made in Accounts cannot transfer to POS.

Have been in contact with support and they have had us "Verify, Rebuild and Verify" in Accounts. This process shows no errors, but we still cannot transfer or post.

Any suggestions please?

    Hi Andrew.
    Thanks for your reply.

Running RA Enterprise Retail Edition 2014 and POS Lite 2014.

Yes, we have tried rebooting all machines.

    Both POST and TRANSFER fails.
POST fails immediately with the errors that I had listed in my post.
TRANSFER starts with the normal message "Transferring Data from Accounts", but after about 10 mins when the message changes to "Processing Chart of Accounts", the same error message appears as with the POST.

QBW data file listed in Options in POS Admin appears to be correct.

Just checking something with the location of the QBPOS.PDB database file that is also listed on this Options page. I checked the location listed and couldn't see the PDB in the directory. There are QBPOS backup files and the 6 daily POS files waiting to be POSTED in this directory. I'm getting our tech guy to have a look today.

Just a wild suggestion.  I once had difficulty between the two computers (Terminal & Admin) and it turned out one of the computers was the wrong date.  .... worth a try !

Yeah I've had that be a pain before too, but unfortunately not this time! Cheers.

Just tried a transfer, and we get the same error, "Error Connecting to Accounts. The requested connection type could not be found" when it hits Chart of Accounts.

The only thing that we did differently on the first day these errors occurred, was we tried to add a "Price 2" to a certain item in POS Administrator. We also tried to add it in Accounts afterwards. Both have since been removed.

    Could this cause issues?

Just solved issue. Was a corrupt QBPOS.PDB file. Restored from a backup the day it stopped working, and all was well. Because we had the little.pos files (end of day) from all last five days, we just performed a Post once it was working, and all the transactions from the last five days went into the new, restored QBSPOS.PDB file, bringing us up to date.
