Editing payee names after upgrading from Microsoft Money

I have recently moved all my data across from MS Money to Quicken Personal 2011 and then upgraded to ReckonAccounts Personal 2013.

During this process, all the payee information in all transactions was transformed so that it removed all upper case except at the start of words (eg "ABC Shop" became "Abc Shop" for all transactions with that payee). I've created a memorised payee list with all payees in it and they, of course, all have this problem.

I think I've since found out how I could have fixed this on the way through, but I've moved on now and added enough data that I don't want to go back and redo the transfer.

Is there any way I can fix this now? I can edit all the relevant entries in the memorised payees list and that will take care of future transactions, but that will not fix the historical ones. I don't want to go through each transaction and edit it!

    Hi Graeme,

    Welcome to Reckon Online Community.

Reckon Accounts Personal Find & Replace option may help your issue; Make sure you back up your file before making changes.
    • Go to Edit > Find & Replace from the top menu bar
    • Select All Fields or Payee in Look In, Exact in Match If and the incorrect name "Abc Shop" in the Find
    • Click on Find All and highlight the transactions that you want update the payee names.
    • Type in the new name "ABC Shop" in the With field at the bottom of window and click on Replace
Let me know how you go with it

    Cheers :-)
    Jason
