How do I enter a serial number within QuickPOS?

I am trying QuickPOS Professional 2013 and when I set it up for retail sales, I can scan the barcode of the item however I need to scan the serial number of the item aswell.

Say an item has a barcode and then has a serial number unique to that item.

How do I do this within the program?

    Hi Raymond, is the serial number on a barcode as well? If so, try opening up the Memo field on a Sale in POS and scanning in the serial number and it should be recognised as text.

    Just keep in mind Raymond that Reckon Accounts as will as Reckon POS (formerly QuickPOS) are not designed to track variants (eg. Serial Number, Expiry Date, Batch No, Revision No, Size, Colour, Grade). This is advanced inventory functionality.

    This means you can not receive, hold, and sell inventory reported by Serial.

    However, the method Nathan mentions is good if you don't want to track by serial, but simply report it on the sales receipt + have that information held in the database to refer to if required, such as warranties/returns.
