Why can't I open Loan Manager anymore?
Steffi
Hi. We recently had to upgrade our desktop. I did the whole create a backup of your company file, Installed Reckon Accounts on my new PC, Activated it and then Restored my backup. Problem is I cannot open my Loan Manager (it states "could not open the specified QuickBooks company data file. 80040403) and it is not sending any quotes or estimates via email. Can someone please please help...

Hi Steffi,
Welcome to Reckon Online Community.
In Reckon Accounts, click on
File > Utilities > Stop Hosting Multi-User Access
.
Attempt to open the Loan Manager again.
If the problem persists, continue with the following steps:
1. Close the company file:
File > Close Company
2. Open the company file by clicking
File > Open or Restore Company > Open a company file > Next
.
3. browse to the location of your company file.
4. Click Open.
5. Launch the Loan Manager
Regarding the emailing issue, please follow the instructions in below FAQ topic.

Please let me know how you go.

Hi Hoang, Thanks for that. I have now tried both of your suggestions to try and fix the Loan Manager, however I am still unable to open it up. It still comes up stating: Could not open the specified QuickBooks company data file. 80040403 Any more suggestions? I am just about to give the emailing suggestion a go. Thanks, Steffi

Hi Steffi,
Please try the loan manager with the sample company file open, the locations for them are.
Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\ Intuit\QuickBooks\Sample Company Files\ReckonAccounts 2013\
Windows Vista, 7 & 8 - C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Sample Company Files\ReckonAccounts 2013\
If the sample company file still have the error then try to uninstall and re-install Reckon Accounts with the administrator user.
Regards,
Hoang
