Why isn't the Extra tax amount deducted from the employee's pay?

Using Reckon Premier- entering an amount into the extra tax field in employee tax set up has no effect. Is there a trick to this?

    Hi Lech, 

    How much 'Extra Tax' are you trying to deduct?

    Did you edit the field before opening the Payroll screen?

    Is the employee set up with a TFN and Tax Preference?
