Problem deleting unnecssary accounts in Chart of Accounts for new company

I'm trying to set up an additional company in Accounts 2014 Premier version. Selected None/Other for the company type when using the start interview and manually selected required Chart of Account types.

I found that I still ended up with an extensive list of accounts which I'm working through to manually edit/delete. I've deleted all unneeded subitems but continue to get an error message when trying to delete certain primary items - the error says that I cannot delete an item that has subitems, regardless of the fact that these subitems have now been deleted. I tried doing a re-start but it made no difference.

Hey Tracey,

Welcome to the community and thank you for your post.

I would suggest selecting your industry as Simple Chart of Accounts which will allow to remove and add accounts prior to setting the company up. This will avoid the error you are experiencing above.
