Is google desktop available in Reckon Accounts 2014?

    Reckon Accounts 2014 does not provide the facility.

    Hi Jerry and Catherne. Google has discontinued this product, and hence we no longer bundle it with Reckon Accounts (formerly QuickBooks).

    In September 2011, Google announced it would discontinue a number of its products, including Google Desktop. The reason given was that "In the last few years, there’s been a huge shift from local to cloud-based storage and computing, as well as the integration of search and gadget functionality into most modern operating systems. People now have instant access to their data, whether online or offline. As this was the goal of Google Desktop, the product will be discontinued"

    Hi Jason,

    i must say that it's very disappointing to lose that function as we used it every day to find old transactions for our customers.

    if there is any way to get that function reinstated that'd be much appreciated. [thinking i might go back to 2012-13 version as to date there are no new features that impress me that much and to lose one that does is frustrating]

    Hi Tim,

    Unfortunately our hands are tied as this decision was entirely Googles. I dare say it effected a lot of software vendors like ourselves. Microsoft Silverlight is another case in point.

    One of our tech team has investigated trying to integrate an old install but without success, and with new operating systems coming online (ie Win 8) it would be impossible for us to support.

    Needless to say we share your frustration...
