How does GST in purchases and sales differ in Reckon compared to other accounting software?

In another software package when you enter a purchase or sale it works out the GST for you. It automatically fills it. Is there a standard account that you should type in the tax portion of a transaction in? Is it Tax Payable? Or should I create a GST Payable and a GST Receivable account? Im using EasyStart.

    Hi NoCruncher,

When you enter the GST tax code on your sales is will calculate the GST and when you enter NCG or CAG on your purchases, it will work out the GST for you.

Have you perhaps not turned the Tax tracking on in your file? File drop down menu > preferences.

    Kind regards,
