Can I create a Sales report by $$ only, as data not a graph?

I need a report of Sales by $$ only, no items or customers, just value, also to be able to select the date range too, and the ability to export to Excel. I can get this data in a graph but is there a way to create the same report as data? I'm using Reckon Accounts Premier Retail edition 2014. Thanks! Pam

Pam, have you tried customizing any of the existing sales reports (Reports > Sales)?
Are you after the $ value by week, by day, by month?
Have you looked at what you can change by using the "Modify Report" button in a report?
Example: create a Sales by Customer Summary
If you don't want a report "by Item" or "by Customer" then you can just grab the TOTAL value.
Display the columns "By Month"
Maybe you can provide an example of what the report you need looks like.

Hi Inigo, yes I've tried customizing the sales report, but I'd like to remove the Quantity / % of Sales / Avg Price columns leaving just the Amount which is what we want, over 12 months but with a monthly display, I know I can do this in the Modify Report area. My client isn't looking for any breakdowns in this report, he just wants financial data on his $$ sales over the year. I know we can export to Excel & delete the unwanted columns, but if I can produce what we need within QB it would be better. Hope you can help, thanks again. Pam

HI Pam,
Not sure which exact report you are looking at that has the columns you described: Quantity / % of Sales / Avg Price
If the customization options available in the program do not allow you to remove those columns then you would need to do it externally in Excel.
Another option is to use a 3rd party utility that allows for more power reporting capabilities.
You may want to contact these other providers to see if their product is compatible with the Australian versions of QuickBooks (Reckon Accounts)
