Error in data held within upload iif file
Abby Ball
Hello, I have exported items list as iif files to excel, deleted all the old files that were empty and tidied up a bit, when I import to qb, I get all the information except the stock levels and relative pricing, yet I haven't deleted any headers, only rows. Can you please help. This same issue happened when I imported the chart of accounts, so I am doing something consistently!!
Thanks Mandy

Hi Mandy,
Welcome to the Reckon Community.
Stock levels cannot be imported from an IIF file. You will need to pass Stock Adjustment entries to create your opening stock levels and prices.
You can get a summary of your stock position in the original file from an Inventory Valuation Summary Report - it will give you inventory quantities, average costs and total value:
Reports > Inventory > Inventory Valuation Summary
In your new file, input Inventory quantities and average costs:
Suppliers > Inventory Activities > Adjust Quantity / Value on Hand
Choose an Adjustment Account
Set the Adjustment date to the day before the file start date
Tick the “Value Adjustment” box
Enter the amount of stock you had on hand - adjust the New Value figure to agree with the reports’ “Asset Value” figure.
Hope this helps.
regards,
John
