Sales reciept has extra on it !!

I have quickbooks premier 2009-10 and i now have a "A" appearing on the end of my sales reciept numbers any suggestions on how to get rid of it ?

You may want to provide more information about the problem.
Create a new dummy sales receipt
Change the sales receipt number (Sale No.) to "DUMMY"
Add one item
Save the transaction
Create a new sales receipt
Change the sales receipt number (Sale No.) to the correct next number sequence you want to have. (Example: set the Sale No. to 5001)
Add your items as per usual
Save the transaction
You can delete that dummy sales receipt.
Now when you next create a sales receipt, the next Sale No. should be 5002

Thank you for contacting Reckon Community.
The letter ‘A’ may have been accidentally typed in one of your previous sales receipt and saved and closed. Hence it picked up the same detail automatically when you do a new Sales receipt. To remove it from there, simply delete it from the number field, when doing the new Sales receipt and save & close.
Once saved and closed it will hold that information and will not bring it on future sales reciepts.
