Item category and sub category layout has changed

We have just upgraded, and used to have our items laid out in the inventory list so there were subitem categories, and these were indented on the list. eg: clutch parts may be the subitem, and indented underneath were all related part numbers.
The list now appears in one long string. This is not very user friendly, as the indents used to help us track our way down the list. I've tried resorting the list and nothing has changed.
Is there a preference setting for this? Or a workaround? It's making it hard to generate invoices.
THanks.

Hi Mereki,
Please try the following.
In the Item List, click 'Item' at the bottom left, then select 'Hierarchical View'.

Hi Mereki,
Just for future reference, this can also happen in the customer centre and chart of accounts. If you follow Deny's instructions you can fix this in other areas too!
Kind regards,
