2015 R2 installation interrupted error

When installing 2015 R2 on a Win2K8 R2 Std server, I get the "Installation Interrupted" window, and have to end the install.

I'm selecting the 'Reckon Accounts Only' option. It appears to get past installing the MS Runtime Library fine. Once that install has finished, it appears another installer is kicked off, and then I get the interrupted window.

I've tried the steps in this kb article - http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=3918. I've uninstalled 2015 R1. The Revo installer doesn't see any 2015 versions, neither does the Windows uninstaller. A reboot was done after uninstall.

Any other steps to try?

    Hi Andrew,

    I have .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 4.5.1

    Hi Andrew,

    Sorry, I was wrong. .NET Framework 3.5.1 is installed. I was looking in the Programs list earlier, not the Features list.

    To add more info to this - there is an event logged in the Application log before the installation fails:

    Beginning a Windows Installer transaction: C:\temp\Reckon Accounts 2015 R2\Reckon_Accounts\msxml.msi. Client Process Id: 1132.

    And then:

    Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Reckon Accounts Enterprise. Product Version: 24.00.0001. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Reckon Ltd.. Installation success or error status: 1603.

    And then:

    Product: Reckon Accounts Enterprise -- Installation operation failed.

    Hopefully this helps with troubleshooting.

    Hi Mustafa,

    Thanks for your reply. I'm happy to say that workaround 4 worked for us. It was the Citrix Print Manager that seemed to be stopping the install. After stopping that service, the install went through without any problems.
