Unrecoverable Error - Can't open Reckon Accounts Plus 2014

I am unable to open my Reckon Account Plus 2014 program.  I receive a "Unrecoverable Errror" message and the program shuts down.
I have tried a repair of the program.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled, including rebooting.
Please help!!

    Hi Joy,

    Thank you for your post!

    There could be number of reasons for this, could be file is corrupt or could be something blocking to load.

    You could try below:

    1. If  you cannot open up the RA at all, then try this in order:
      disable antivirus , turn off UAC, 

    2. Try this kb for IE settings http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=470

    3. Hold CTRL+ SHIFT(Keep holding)  button to open RA / also you can test as run as admin.

    4. test in selective mode, you can refer below link,


    If the problem is after selecting the  company file, try this:

    1. Hold ALT button after entering password and click OK
    2. Test with sample file

    3. If sample file opens fine, it could be file locations, put the file as in same location to where sample file is and try.

    4. If still problem, test with the last back up file.

    Hi Babi, thank you heaps.  Yes - option 2 worked - I had adjusted my security settings to high (Windows 7) and as soon as I reset them to default all was fine.  Thanks again, Joy
