I upgraded to Reckon Accounts Home and Business 2016 and I have been getting the following message "sorry, the password you entered does not match the stored password. Check to make sure you are entering the correct password." I accessed an earlier file and was able to get into that file with the password so I know the password is correct. I didn't read the upgrade instruction manual before I upgraded as I note I should have removed the password before the upgrade. How can I retrieve this file now?

    Hi Taxchook,

You will need to go back to the older version and restore a backup from that version, remove the password, then upgrade the file again.  Our data services team can only remove passwords from 2008 and earlier versions for Home and Business.  So that really is the only way forward.

    Regards,
    Shane.

Thank you Shane for your response . It's very disappointing as this has never occurred in the past. I don't think I'll use passwords again and ensure I read the instructions before I upgrade!
