    Hi Neil

You can start by clicking split in the window.  Payments for GST Registered files should not be entered into the Expenses Icon and should not be entered into the bank register, the reports simply will not work.  They must be entered into the Write Cheques window with a tax code eg.  NCG for GST or NCF without.

    Hope this answers your question.

    Kind Regards

Sorry Neil, (I had to create a file to check this).  Don't click the split window, you need to double click the register line, and it will open the cheque window.  You must use the Cheque Window to apply a tax code.

    Thanks Kim,
I must be dense - which window. I've been using Reckon/Quicken since Win 3.11 on many different PCs.
Just upgraded to a new laptop with Win 10 and purchased Reckon ES 2016 for it.
Old laptop Win 8  upgraded to Win 10 with Reckon 2011/12 works like a treat.
I don't see a column to enter the tax code now
Is it something I'm doing during setup
    Best wishes
    Neil

Have you clicked on "WRITE CHEQUES"?

Have you turned on GST in the Preference?
