We sell items that have a material and labour component. We don't want the materials and labour itemised separately on the invoice. Just one line for each different manufactured product.
But, we would also like to track the inventory levels of the raw materials.
We have a lot of regular stock items we manufacture, which I was intending to setup using build assemblies so that the inventory levels of the raw materials can be tracked (material and labour components are always the same for each product).
We also do a lot of one-off jobs where the raw materials and labour component vary - so it is not worthwhile to create a build assembly for each of these.
Is it possible to do this for these one off products? Or do we have to choose one or the other - either itemise materials and labour seperately for each product, OR don't track raw materials?

Hi Andrew,
As per Jacqui's suggestion.
1) Click on the Lists menu and select Item List
2) Click the Item button and select New
3) Click the Type drop-down list and select Group
