Calculate overall weight of items for a quote and invoice?

We would like to find a way to calculate the total weight of the items listed on a quote and on an invoice.  We sell a large range of items and every order is a different weight.  I have tried using a Custom Field for each item but it doesn't multiply by quantity. Is there a way to do this in Reckon Accounts Premier - Manufacturing & Wholesale 2018?  If not, is there an add-on you can recommend?
