I have two computers in different locations, Reckon 2015 on one and a newly installed Reckon 2019 on the other.  When I try to transfer data from the 2015 version to the 2019 using a USB flashdrive the new one does not recognise the transfer.  Is there a proper way of doing this? I have Windows 10 on both.

Thanks Dave;  I have tried using the backup on 2015 and then using the USB to restore backup on the 2019. Should I use copy in file operations?

    Hi Richard
If you copy the file onto the USB, the 2019 version will require you to upgrade the file, before you can use it. It should then operate OK.
This will also mean you cannot take the file back to the 2015 computer either.

    David M is correct.

Your working data file - along with any copies/backups you make from it - is currently in the 2015 version's format.  You will need to upgrade your main working data file (the .QBW) in order for the 2019 version to be able to open & "read" it.
Whilst there may be minimal difference in the User interface that we see, behind the scenes, the coding gets updated with each upgrade/patch update for new features, compliance requirements, threshold limit increases etc.

When you try to "open" your file in the 2019 version, it should automatically detect that it is in an older version format & prompt you to upgrade it ...?

I have successfully transferred the  2015 USB copy to the 2019 version on the other computer;  it appears in the recent files list as E:\.copy etc   and the 2019 file shows as C:\ documents\ Quicken etc.

What is the best way of copying the E: file  to the C: file?

    Richard.
