Restoring errors after reinstallment of Accounts Plus 2018

I had to factory reset my PC with Desktop Reckon Acounts Plus 2018 - so have downloaded and got installation key - so far so good, however i've tried restoring four of the latest backups - both automatic backup and manual, and they all fail.... have spent three hours so far trying - and looked through some of the questions here - what do you suggest, please :-(

What is happening specifically when you attempt to restore one of the backups? Are you encountering an error message? If so, what is it?

We’ve finally got an older backup loaded but Company file had to be saved to the same portable drive to work - have just done a new backup to the desktop - and am going to replace my usual backup data stick today!! What’s the best way for me to proceed from here with where I save to?0

To clarify the above, are you attempting to restore your backup file(s) directly from a removable drive ie. USB stick/portable hard drive etc?
If so, please ensure that each time you attempt to restore a file its from a local destination on the PC itself rather than an external location.
