Your Quicken Program files (not your data files) may have been damaged. You will need to reinstall Q
Hi
I have had to re-install Quicken Personal Plus 2010 due to hard drive issues. Was sent a link to the Quicken 2010.exe and saved this to my system.
When I go to install I get 1 of two messages:
This app has been blocked for your protection. An administrator has blocked you from running the app. For more information contact the Administrator Setup.exe. Pls note I am the administrator
or
If I double click the setup file from file explorer I get "Your Quicken Program files (not your data files) may have been damaged. You will need to reinstall Quicken"
I have uninstalled, tried cleansing my data with PC Cleaner to get rid of any residual Quicken files, before re-installing again, and restarting PC but this has had no impact.
Help please!!
Thanks
Don

I have upgraded from Reckon 2013 to 2021 and when I close the program and try and reopen it, it get the message "Your program file (not your data file) may have been damaged. You will need to reinstall the program.
i have re-installed the program on several occasions, but when I close the app it comes back with this message when I try and re-open it.

I have managed to sort this out. When it uninstalled the old version it didn't delete the old icon on the toolbar, and the program wouldn't start from this icon. When I used the new icon on the desktop it worked. Thanks for your reply.

I have a similar issue to Donny. I have changed computers and am reinstalling Home & Business 2016 on a macbook using parallels and windows 11.
I get the same error message
I have reinstalled several times including turning firewall off and made no difference. I reluctantly upgraded to current subscription V31 thinking it might be a windows 11 problem but still got the same message.
I went to Reckon support for help and they pointed me here to the community.
Any possible solutions here. Howard.

I too have the same error message as Donny and Howard when trying to renew my Reckon software. Doesn't make any difference if I use the official download of Reckon Accounts Personal Plus 2022 or Reckon Accounts Personal Plus V3. I have Windows 10 as I cannot use Windows 11 but phone call to tech line said should be ok on either. I followed the Clean Uninstall and Reinstall advice including the Revo Uninstaller. I use Reckon via Parallels on my Mac but have had no problem for years. Very frustrating and would appreciate any help

Hi @Almac
I use a HP desktop PC, running a true Windows 10 operating system. I had a host of issues a few months back and tried all the steps you describe above, but all in vain.
I eventually solved all my issues by doing a Windows 'reset'. This effectively gave me a brand new reinstallation of my operating system (Windows 10), without losing any of my files on my hard disk. But. I did have to reinstall any software programs I had previously installed. Overall, a very easy and straight forward process, that took about 2 hours.
I believe that, somehow, some file(s) ended up in the 'upper registry' of my PC that a clean reinstall was unable to rid. Thus, the 'reset'.
Is such a similar option available to you on your Mac?
Cheers jc

I just spent an hour with Gerry trying to install Home & Business V31 and could not get it to work.
It looks like it is installing properly but then skips the key entry stage.
Has anyone had any success with installing H&B on mac running parallels & windows 11.
Howard.
