Unable to drill down into reports anymore

Hi there,

One of the things I have loved about Reckon is that you can drill down into reports to see more info on transactions eg. when a General Ledger report is open you can drill down into each line item to see each individual transaction. Something has changed and I am now unable to drill down into figures on reports. Would there be a reason why this has occurred? Can it be fixed?

Thankyou, Rosie

    Hi there Rosie,

What is happening when you attempt to do so now? Is the option still available on-screen?

    Hi Rav,

I used to be able to click on the figure and it would drill down into the detailed transactions but now when I double click on the figure nothing happens.

    Thanks, Rosie

Is your company file set to Cash Basis and are you attempting to drill down on a tax report eg Tax Liability Report etc?

I believe there is a limitation where Reckon Accounts does not allow you to drill down from a summary report eg Tax Liability Report to a Detail Report when the file is set to Cash Basis.

Is that what you're attempting to do at the moment where you're finding it won't work?

No, we are on accrual basis. We have always been able to drill down into reports so I'm not sure why it has changed.

It makes it much slower checking the books and looking into things when I can't drill down directly from the report.

I also need to delete some timer records from payroll imports but I can't do thats eeing I can't clock on the time from the time by name report.

The technical side of things isn’t really my area of expertise but I have one client experiencing this also in an older version of QB/RA on a casted MacBook which leads me to suspect that - rather than a Reckon issue - it may be occurring due to the OS, possibly related to a system update ? It could be a case of changing some settings on your computer ?

Please post back here if you’re able to resolve it as I would be interested to know 😬

I seem to remember that I could no longer do this either on a tax summary report and I always used to do it for checking some codes

@Kris_Williams I’m not in front of it at the moment but from memory I think that drill down is only possible on an Accrual Tax Code Summary but not on a Cash one ? 🤔 (which is annoying!)

Yes you are correct Shaz I just tried it, but I was sure it used to do it on Cash Basis as well! Obviously not

Rosie it doesn’t work on tax reports on cash basis but it does work on Balance sheet and P & L on both accrual and cash

Please check and confirm what your Preference settings are.

Click on the Edit menu then Preferences.
