Reporting and inactive items

Hi
I am new to Reckon Enterprise and am having difficulty in understanding the way in which reports run. From what I can understand, if you make an inventory item inactive, you can no longer report on it at all. As in I run a Inventory Detail report for last finanical year, where an item was active and had associated sales, and it now no longer appears on the report. I find this bizzare. Regardless of the status of the item, there was a movement within the period selected as as such this should be the driver for the report.
I run an inventory fast report via and there is data!
Is this the way in which all inventory systems work?

Which specific Inventory report are you referring to? Most reports can be created &/or customised to include/exclude filters as required.

As mentioned in my original post I ran the "Inventory Detail Report" for last financial year. The Item which was active last year, though is inactive this year, is not showing even though there were sales transactions.
Yes, I understand there are filters that can be applied. Nothing is working though. That is why I need the help.

I asked because there's not actually a specific report by that name ... Do you mean the "Inventory Valuation Detail" ?

Yes, my apologies. I did not notice the Valuation subheading.

Unfortunately, there's not a specific Active v Not Active filter on that particular one.
Have you tried selecting the Open Balance: Report Date option? :

Nope. Does not help. Thanks for trying.
This is the report filtered by the item, showing nothing.
This is the fast report on the item showing that there is data for this period. So frustrating!

I believe the Valuation report is in real-time which is why it's reporting based on circumstances now as current valuation is $ 0.00.
Another filter you could try on that one would be the Amount between:
Failing that, is there a reason why you don't want to use the FastReport? In this case, I'd Customise & Memorise the Inventory Item FastReport! You can add/remove columns if needed (as per the Valuation one) & can even rename it Item Valuation Detail if you prefer.
