Trial Balance with account numbers

I would like to add an "account number" column in my trial balance report. The current "modify report" function for the trial balance report does not have this option. Any suggestions on what report I can run that will give me: account number, account description, balances DR and CR. The report has to be date driven.

Edit - preferences - accounting - company preferences - use account numbers

then edit each account and enter number

Make sure you turn on Account numbers in your preferences (ACCOUNTING)

I already have account numbers ticked as we do use account numbers.

The account numbers appear on the account list report, just not the trial balance.

That’s strange because they are on all of mine, balance sheet & trial balance

i did not have to modify the report just turned them on in preferences

have you entered the account number in the number section of each account ?or as part of the name ( just a stab in the dark)

My trial balance shows the account numbers.

We use account numbers in the number section.

But when I run the TB the account number appears in the account description.

Yes correct - I don’t think there’s any other option. Have you tried exporting to spreadsheet

Yes I have exported to a spreadsheet, but the number is part of the description.

Yet when I run an account list, account number, account description are separate. Unfortunately the account list report is not date driven, so I can only get current balances.
