Hello, I am trying to add a new Company ABN to my STP Customer Portal and it is coming up with "Sorry, that ABN has already been registered. If you have one, please try a different GST branch." Do I have to enter something in the GST branch field?

    Hi @1545010

    That message is appearing because your ABN has already been registered to GovConnect at some stage previously. Its likely that you're now logged into account that is different to the one that the ABN was registered in GovConnect to originally.

    If you login using the original account (email address & password) then your STP entity for the ABN will appear in GovConnect.

    Hi, my Accountant has set this up this Company and ABN. I haven't registered the ABN in GovConnect previously. The Accountant is now trying to see if they can cancel and re-register.

    They won't be able to cancel the registration if there have been STP submission sent for the ABN already.

    There are a couple of options though;

    If you would still like your accountant to retain access as well as yourself, then he/she can share the STP entity to your account. There's info on how to share an STP entity below -

    If you don't wish for the accountant to have access to the STP entity anymore but is currently in an account owned by them then our support team can action transfer of ownership which will move the STP entity from one account to another ie. from their account to your account. This option will require a statutory declaration and will need to be requested by the owner/authority of the ABN.

    There has been no STP submission yet, today was the first Payroll entry for this new Company and I haven't been able to submit due to this problem.
