screen order in templates

Hi Community ,

In templates the screen order of items is different to the print order. ie different views.

I can move the position of the input boxes in the template layout but this only fixes the printed purchase order. Does anyone know how i change the screen order? or even if it can be changed. I have added an open/sent field so other users know if the invoice is open or already sent /ordered and I would like this boxes to appear before other input fields on my screen view as well. So in the example I want the Open/sent boxes to 1st on that line of the template in front of the quote no.

    Hi Tilley

    The screen order & print order are the same eg there aren’t separate order options for the 2 🤔

    You can re-order/move fields & lanes in the template Basic Customisation window & also - in more detail - in the Layout Designer.

    Check that the labels you’re using aren’t actually defaulted differently to what you’re using them for.

    Hi Shaz , really appreciate the feedback, but it is on the screen that I want the boxes to rearrange but I cannot see any option re the order on the screen. You are right the template can be altered in layout and is correct. I just wanted the first box that requires input on the screen to show that the PO had been ordered already.

    The template and the screen are different. In my post you can see what the screen looks like and here is how the template

    Hopefully others might know? :-)

    Hi Tilley

    💡 I think you may have multiple templates which is why your configurations aren't matching the display as it looks like that template isn't actually the same one that's displaying on your screen 😬

    In the Template list, (accessed via the Lists dropdown menu along the top toolbar) click on the Type column header to sort & check the template type to ensure it is actually a "Purchase Order" template. You'll also be able to see here if you have more than one:


    In the PO on your screen, click on the dropdown arrow highlighted here to select the applicable PO template:

    I think you should find another one there that is actually the one you've been editing 😊

    Hi Shaz,

    was hoping you were right , there are 3 - The Reckon one and a RCTI one both of which I have made inactive, I can see the print preview in the template and it is the one I edited and using, it is the only one displaying. So afraid not the solution.

    I did find a work around by using one of the 'other 1' fields which are higher up the listing and this worked.
